Two Options for Screenwriters Too Afraid to Write Because They Think They’ll Suck
Yesterday I was browsing through the hundreds of comments over at copyblogger and noticed two pretty common words appearing …

“I’m afraid”
Some screenwriters are at the point where they’re so afraid that they’ll suck at writing that they can’t even bring themselves to write. These screenwriters most likely experience number 7 of the 10 early warning signs of writer’s block when talking with other screenwriters, friends, and family.
If you’re suffering from this fear of writing, you only have two options:
1. Admit that you’re never going to write your screenplay, realize that you’re more of a movie lover than an actual screenwriter, and move on.
2. Realize that you do suck and that you’re not going to get any better until you practice – then go write your screenplay.
While both options might seem a little depressing, it’s simply the truth. There’s no way around it.
If you chose option 2, proceed to the next step …
How to Overcome Your Fear and Start Writing
I’ve said it before, so I’ll skip over saying it again and let you check it out for yourself: Writer’s Block is Just A Creative Excuse Not to Write. Though we’re talking about the fear of writing, I think it’s another form of writer’s block.
The bottom line: start writing.
Write anything and everything that comes to mind. Don’t worry about it’s quality or form, style or structure.
Just write crap.

Kurtzman and Orci are the highest paid, most prolific writers in Hollywood and I wouldn't trust them to write my shopping list. Take inspiration from this.
