ABOUT
Welcome to ScriptXRay – a blog where screenwriters can look beyond the surface of screenwriting and discover how to write a better screenplay.

My name is Christopher Rice, but you might know me as ChristopherR2D2. I’m a script reader in Los Angeles – I’m one of those people you need to impress when submitting your screenplay to producers.

I picked up my first pile of scripts as an intern in 2004. It was for a production company in a dumpy old building on Hollywood Boulevard. Since then I’ve become a professional reader with credits including Gold Circle Films (the Fourth Kind), Josephseon Entertainment (Bones), Penny Marshall (A League of Their Own), and more.
In light of the experience I built, which continues to include various production companies, independent producers, and directors, I was invited to join the team of story analysts at ScriptShark.com (A New York Times Company). During my time there, I read everything from screenplays to manuscripts to plays, and even a few adaptations as well. Unlike reading for producers and executives, I wrote coverage specifically for the screenwriter’s eyes, which was focused toward helping them steer their screenplays toward their full potential by identifying what needed work, what didn’t, where the writer’s strengths and weaknesses were, and how to improve the work overall.
I’ve read just about every type of literary material a producer might consider valuable, but my main focus has been with feature screenplays, manuscripts, published novels, and television pilots.
I currently make a living as a freelance reader, pro blogger, and content specialist. If interested in sending me your screenplay, please contact me with your request as I currently only accept a limited number of submissions per month.
