POLL: Do You Write On The Weekend?

I’ve been seeing a lot of posts, tweets, and updates from screenwriters online this past week — mostly regarding the progress they’ve made on their screenplay.
That said, there’s barely anything going on this weekend – It has me wondering:
How many novice or aspiring screenwriters out there spend their weekends — they’re time to do what ever they want (if on a standard work schedule) — working on their screenplay?
It seems like a strange question, but I think it’s an important one for the novice screenwriter to ask themselves.

When I’m working on ANY project – screenplay, book or stage play – the work isn’t done until it’s done, and that includes weekends.
Same here, Chris — right on!
I need every minute I can scrape together – my free time is most often spent on writing because that’s what I love to do. We are the “sickly little mole people” in the entertainment business for a reason.
I write while I’m doing laundry and cleaning…. both mindless tasks so I can think out scenes. I keep the computer in and the software page up and when I get an idea….I drop the mop and write. If I have to go out I use the pad on my itouch for notes. I basically walk around in a semi-trance all weekend. Which is cool because you observe more of your surrounding because anything can influence an element of your plot, character, or story in general.
Happy Scripting
I write when the idea is fresh – there are no weekends, only days with more or less noise/distractions in the house.
@Chazda // Glad to hear you love to write — I think there’s a lot of writers out there that like the idea of being a writer, but writing doesn’t make them happy. By the way, I love your artwork!
@Nikki // I’m right there with you — in fact, I’m usually in a trance of some sort at all times, hah!
@Beth // “there are no weekends” nice!
Thanks Christopher!
I write whenever I get the chance, by necessity around my day job and family obligations, but the days and nights and weekends blur together. I’m glad I’m not the only one walking around in a daze!
@Barbara // It can definitely be both a gift and a curse at times. Thanks for sharing.
